  i will probably use this line in my bible highlights tonight!

  it's from the 5/1/1950 wt article " a christian use of material wealth.

  the money which is contributed by persons who accept the printed bible-study helps from jehovahs witnesses aids quite a bit in keeping the work going.

  my names michelle, i was a babit zed witness and left the org three years ago after thorough research of its past teachings.

  when i walked away i left behind all my close friends, and associates.

  i do miss the christian companionship and association.

  Speculation on why now?

  in the last couple of years the org has gone money crazy, selling off over a billion dollars worth of property and now a new tithing program.

  just wonder what every one thinks is the reason for all this now?.

  People in general in many halls seem to have a lot less to give. Maybe donations really have dried up.

  Lriddle, a workmate who started searching for "the truth" mentioned that one of the reasons he didn't consider us (I was still in and witnessing to him) to have the truth was that Johannes Greber was involved in our bible translation. I started searching away online after he brought that up. Granted, I had just heard about Candace Conti and had a lot of questions.

  You never know what may pique someone's interest.

  my publisher recently posted a link to an atricle critical of jws on my book's facebook page.. to my surprise, the comments were all by loyal jws (or, at least, jw apologists).. if anyone would like to help out by providing a rational rebuttal to their arguments, i'd appreciate it.

  How many were victims of child molesters who were members that are still members?!

  Anybody here vegan?

  i've been considering it for awhile strictly for just general overall health.

  i don't take any meds, and would like to keep it that way for as long as i can.

  i am a "all things in moderation " type of person but the more i read about excluding dairy and meat, the more i think about doing it.

  My daughter and best friend are vegan. I decided to commit to being vegan Monday - Friday of last week.

  I was successful, felt great and lost 5 pounds.

  Disclaimer: I'm not a red meat eater to begin with, but I had lapsed into less healthy vegetarian/pescatarian choices in the past two years so the prospect of being vegan was daunting.

  Always good to open our mind and try something new :)

  My Elderette is returning today to CONDUCT another conversation...

  she has had 42 years of training and indoctrination.

  i'm feeling sort of nervous, but also looking forward to it.

  this will be our second scheduled session together, and we never did agree on a topic.. i'm assuming she will come with an agenda and another prepared presentation.

  Great job! They sound like the older women in my family. A lifetime of "teaching" people about the Bible and they really can't answer a question without parroting what they've been told.
